I am a volunteer tour guide at
Ventnor Botanic Garden and
was amazed to see this lizard climbing this lovely shrub amongst the South African
borders (Salvia africanus-lutea). It appeared to be hunting deep in the flowers for nectar or maybe insects.

I liked the article about the quarry and how this is being given back to nature, what a good idea and nice for what seems to be a business with strong Island connections to be doing something selfless (I wish others did more of the same) and giving back whilst so many others just take. I go to the Lavender Farm with my wife quite often for afternoon tea but never realised the quarry was there or all this was happening.

Firstly, well done on another terrifi c issue of Style of Wight. I picked up my copy yesterday and haven’t been able to put it down since.
I wanted to write to you as one article really struck a chord with me, the one on page 123 regarding H.J. Bennett and how Mr Bennett is working with the site owners to ‘return the site to nature’.
What a great initiative for the Island. I wish there were more businesses out there that took their responsibility to the Island this seriously. Well done Mr Bennett and everyone at H.J. Bennett.
