Ending Troublesome Damp Problems

Damp walls in a property can become a troublesome and expensive issue if not treated properly. But now Shanklin based Angel Coatings can eradicate these problems, and also remedy the ever-growing worry of standing water or flooding on driveways, paths and patios and even existing concrete, tarmac or paving slabs in some cases.

S

imon Regan, boss of Angel Coatings with 20 years’ experience in the trade explains, “If you have a damp, solid wall that cannot receive cavity wall insulation, we can use secoTHERM, an innovative cream that improves the thermal effi ciency of your home by keeping it dry, and reduces heat loss, offering a saving on energy bills of up to 30 per cent and in some cases even more. Even with cavity wall insulation, we can still add secoTHERM, as it will simply help to maintain the thermal properties of the cavity wall insulation.” When secoTHERM is applied by Angel Coatings you will

benefi t from a 20-year guarantee, and for every job sold the company makes a donation to the Earl Mountbatten Hospice on the Island.

Angel Coatings can also end standing water worries by applying Geopave Rapid Cure Bonding Resin, a cold, hand laid anti-slip, decorative resurfacing product for areas that are in need of refurbishment. It produces a surface which gives the look of a natural gravel area, but one which is fi rmly bonded, reducing dust and inconvenience. Using existing surfaces such as tarmac, concrete and paving slabs as a base, it prevents the ingress of water and is a non–porous product.

New legislation has been brought in to return rainwater to the natural water table to reduce the risk of flash flooding associated with tarmac, concrete, printed concrete and block paving surfaces on driveways. Planning permission is now required for drives and resin applied by Angel Coatings can meet Suds requirements letting water soak away through its surface.

Resin Stone Overlaying is effectively surfacing over your existing block-paved, tarmac or concrete driveway, path or patio. Resin Overlays provide a highly cost-effective and quick way of replacing the surface in the Garden or on the Driveway. As well as being aesthetically pleasing and highly durable, the benefits include: Being both solvent and odour free (during and after application), restricting growth of weeds, eliminating loose stones, being environmentally friendly and being compliant with Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS).

How is it done?

We initially prepare the existing surface using a high pressure jet washer system and primer, before applying your chosen resin stone combination. The overlays typically take 1-2 days with minimal inconvenience.

Thank you to our neighbour for recommending us to Angel Coatings.

Our driveway used to look horrific, but now it looks like it has been newly built. The guys were really friendly, punctual and professional. Great job!

We would highly recommend them.
