PREVIEW OF RENEWABLEUK EVENT

RenewableUK Preview

Manchester 2014

When an industry has the potential to grow quickly everyone sees an opportunity to grab a piece of the action.

Event organisations are particularly aware of situations like these and you will have witnessed the amount of emails and commercial promotional opportunities which has very quickly grown over recent years.

MAKING CHOICES

It is not easy to find out which events to support without spending a considerable amount of time researching the whys and wherefores before making a commitment to attend.

We are now recognised as a publication for the industry and to a great degree produced by the industry which promotes those events we know will be both worthwhile and cost efficient – see our events pages in the magazine and online events calendar.

RENEWABLEUK EVENT MANCHESTER 2014

The Manchester event is organised and controlled by RenewableUK who are a not- for-profit industry membership organisation which is run by the industry for the industry – we would recommend that you support this event.

I hear many times about the costs of both attending and to a greater extent exhibiting – I would gauge my decisions on ROI first and then the decision would be backed up by knowing that whatever profits are made are ploughed right back into the industry.

I hope to see you there – you will not regret it, as many previous visitors and exhibitors will testify.

C SPEED – STAND NO 181 Last year at RenewableUK 2013, C Speed’s announced that its LightWave Radar, a radar system that mitigates the clutter generated by wind turbines and solves the issue that causes airports to object to the construction of windfarms, was purchased and successfully installed at Manston, Kent’s International Airport to mitigate a Thales Star2000.

Today, at RenewableUK 2014, LightWave Radar remains the first (and only) radar to be purchased in the UK for clutter mitigation that does not require terrain screening.

2014 has been another good year for C Speed as LightWave Radar continues to achieve industry leading ‘firsts’ …

• First to be purchased by a renewables industry wind developer for mitigation – Vattenfall

• First to lift a major aviation objection at a major airport – Infratil at Manston

• First to receive consent from DECC to allow Vattenfall to proceed and build at KFE

• First to be competitively selected by the Aviation Investment Fund Company Limited

• First to be selected by the UK MOD for its 2013 Technical Demonstration and the US DOD for its 2013 IFT&E Demonstration, and, successfully complete both of the trials

• First in 2012 and 2013 to be shortlisted as ‘Engineering Technology of the Year’ by Jane’s Airport Review HIS and CANSO at its World ATM Conference and Exhibition in Madrid, Spain

• First radar, in December 2013, to win the Scottish Green Energy Award for the ‘Best Innovation’ for its selection to mitigate wind turbine clutter at a UK Airport - Manston

C Speed thanks its customers and partners in the UK and looks forward to an even more exciting 2015!
