A full consumer products programme, real-life action experiences and online activity are some of the elements which will go into launching this brand. Tiger Hobbies

01709 890 940 | www.tiger-hobbies.co.uk In toy soldiers, Tiger Hobbies has many ranges available including Knights, Saracens, Egyptians, Vikings, Greeks, Cowboys and Indians, and some Russian Napoleonic. Since April 2012, the company has sold approximately 11,000 sets, with Romans leading as the most sold. In April 2013 the company will import a third batch, which includes British and French Napoleonic; these new fi gures are more detailed, and more akin to the classic 54mm or 1/32 scale. The company will be refreshing packaging and presentation over the next year, including a school

Superman, Man of Steel movie. These include the ‘Man of Steel’ Flight Speeders Launchers Assortment, where kids can lift the canopy to load any of the 3.75-inch Quick Shots Basic Figures into the cockpit and then soar the skies, and the ‘Man of Steel’ Flight Speeders Kryptonian Scout Ship. Following the release of Batman, The Dark Knight Rises, Mattel continues to deliver a portfolio of products. Highlights this year include the Batman Power Attack Mission Figures; the six-inch fi gures have new features; and the Batman Blast Lane Batmobile has a new design for 2013. The WWE toy line has a new WWE Power Slammer range including

WWE Power Slammers, the WWE Power Slammer Starter Kit and the WWE Power Slammer Ring, where boys can re-create their favourite fi ghts or create scenarios of their own. 2013 will also see additions to the WWE Rumblers range with the new

WWE Rumblers Rampage fi gures, now with a kid-activated battling feature. The WWE Rumblers Rampage Devastadium Playset allows boys to ‘punch’ through the moveable boom camera into the breakaway, ‘throw’ each other into the tiered stands and ‘jump’ into the breakaway lights.

project range with books and painting guides, and a Roman Mile Fort. The range is currently more Ancient and Medieval, but the company aims to compliment the existing

offerings with more Napoleonic fi gures and, for 2014, possibly some World War One fi gures. Each range of soldiers comes in various presentation packages, from value bags with header cards containing six to eight soldiers (always including two mounted fi gures), and larger bags with twelve to sixteen soldiers. Some of the sets include re-issued classic fi gures but the Romans, the new Medieval fi gures and

Napoleonic are new castings. For example, many Roman toy soldiers of the past held their shields at arm’s length with the rear of the shield shown in a 2D pose. Historically, the Roman Soldier held his shield close and to the front using his sword to attack the enemy from the side. The Romans soldiers in the Tiger Hobbies range recreate these 3D poses.
