H. Grossman signs for Mr. Men Little Miss outdoor toys
Sanrio continues to build the Mr. Men Little Miss licensing programme in the UK and has announced H. Grossman as a new partner. H. Grossman will produce a selection of Mr. Men Little Miss toys including an active range. The deal sees a new collection of scooters, trikes and bicycles for boys and girls featuring the iconic characters. In addition to this are ankle ball and skip, frisbees and skipping ropes.
Sega selects Sambro for Sonic games and puzzles
Sambro will introduce a brand new range of Sonic the Hedgehog games and puzzles in the UK, Eire and the Channel Islands in 2013. Expanding the Sonic the Hedgehog range of licensed products, new launches
from Sambro will include: Puzzles 2 Go; Board Games; Action Games (including Pinball, Four in a Row, Fire Balls, Air Hockey, Super Pinball, Rapid Fire, Magnetic Scribblers); and Boxed Puzzles. Puzzles 2 Go – 48-piece puzzles which come in a zipped bag – will be the fi rst products to roll out at retail in June 2013. to work with Sega for Sonic on a range of puzzles and games. Sambro will be launching with a unique reusable packaging on the Sonic puzzles, retailing from £1.99 to £7.99, and available from June 2013.”
Nikko signs deal for Fast & Furious 6
Nikko has announced that it has signed a pan- European licence deal for the upcoming movie Fast & Furious 6. Four detailed radio controlled vehicles in 1/16 scale will be available four weeks before the movie is released on 23rd of May 2013 in the UK. Part of the action-packed movie is shot in the UK, bringing this franchise into Europe for the fi rst time. Arne Vissers, VP sales

HIT Entertainment has announced the appointment of Michael Carrington to the newly-created position of head of content and production, HIT Global Brands. Based in HIT’s London offi ce, Michael
will be responsible for enhancing HIT’s centre of excellence for content and development, reporting to Edward Catchpole. Michael joins HIT from
Turner Broadcasting where he headed up the EMEA kids content team. Previously, Michael was controller of CBeebies and responsible for developing its pre-school brands.
Jumbo teams up with Nickelodeon
Jumbo Games has announced a new partnership with Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products to produce a range of puzzles and games centred around The Jim Henson Company’s Dinosaur Train series. The show currently airs every day at 3pm on Nick Jr. Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products represents the merchandising business for the property on behalf of The Jim Henson Company within the UK and Ireland.
