Worlds Apart has announced the
appointment of Julie Taylor as head of grocery sales. Julie joins Worlds Apart following a 13-year career at Golden Bear, where she held the position of sales director for the past six years.
Tomy International has announced that Nicolai Lindhardt has been appointed as executive vice president for Tomy Europe effective from 1st April 2013. He will succeed Gary Hunter who has led the integration of the RC2 and Tomy businesses to form Tomy Europe since last year. Nicolai brings to the role a wealth of experience in the toy industry with a record of driving significant growth, building brands and demonstrating operational excellence for global consumer products companies, including Mattel.
Morris. Hornby’s chief executive Frank Martin welcomed Stone’s appointment, and commented that “Nick has the skills and fresh perspective to add significant value”. Morris, Hornby’s finance director for 11 years, announced his departure in November and will be chief executive at the privately-owned pharmaceutical business, Medreich.
Gemma International has announced that Claire Shaw has joined the team as licensing manager. Claire said: “It’s a privilege to be joining Gemma who has such a fantastic reputation amongst the licensing community. I‘m looking forward to using my experience to develop and grow the business.”
Eleanor de Bruin has stepped into the editor’s role on the consumer- focused toy news website ToyTalk, following three years as a writer on the site. David Smith, who set up the site and edited it for seven years, will now be concentrating on developing the ToyTalk brand, especially through the ToyTalk Awards.
Orchard Toys has appointed Alison Brown as its new marketing manager. Simon Newbery, MD, commented: “We are so pleased to have secured the services of a professional with such an excellent track record. On a personal level, we know Ali well as she was our account manager when our marketing was handled by Turton Middleton (now The Line). I have absolutely no doubt that she is an excellent choice and will fit seamlessly into our team.”
Sabrina Green joins the Tactic team in the role of sales administration manager, where she will be based in the new Tactic UK office in Send, near
Woking, Surrey. Sabrina previously managed the web fulfilment team at Links of London.
Innovation First has
announced the appointment of Daniel Richardson as the new national sales director, UK. Daniel brings with him over 15 years of experience in the toy trade including sales and managing director positions at Digital Blue and Funrise.
Co-founder and joint managing director of Trends UK, David Bottomley, is leaving the business having sold his share-holding to his business partner Lee Clowes. After 10 years building the business, David is taking a short sabbatical, while Mr Clowes becomes the majority shareholder in the Trends business.
Mookie has promoted Stewart Middleton to UK head of sales and Michael Berg to international head of sales. After a year of heading up the sales of Mookie’s newly acquired TP brand, Stewart will take up his new role with immediate effect. Michael will continue to work with domestic accounts, and will also work to make global properties such as The Hive become popular internationally.
VTech has appointed Charlotte Johnson to the role of product manager. Charlotte joins with extensive marketing experience working agency side most recently for M&C Saatchi. Clive Richardson, managing director of Vtech, said: “Charlotte brings a new dimension to the VTech marketing team which will help us to meet the challenges of an evolving market and our new position as a top five toy manufacturer in the UK. I am delighted to welcome Charlotte on board.”
