ep, it’s summertime, and the cycling will be sweet! You’re going to put in mucho miles in

the San Francisco AIDS Foundation this seven-day, 560-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles is a real life changer, not only for those whom it supports, but for each of the riders as well. Listen to the riders’ stories, and you can’t help but be swept away by their commitment to “...end the pandemic and human suffering caused by AIDS.” Listen to Gilroy’s Emily Taormino, rider #4051. This will be Emily’s fourth year participating in the ALC. Starting as a roadie in 2005, she found the ride’s goodwill and camaraderie restored her faith in humanity. Since then, she’s rid- den in 2006 and 2008, and she’s raring to go for this year!

And listen to Hollister’s David Gaus, rider #5006. David is so dedicated to this ride, that he’s taken part every year! 2011 will be his tenth year riding ALC (earn- ing him 10FOR10 Club honors); during those years, he’s raised nearly $50,000 for the San Francisco AIDS Foundation! David is quick to point out that, though there have been many advances in HIV/AIDS research, “...there still is no cure.”

If you’re a rider or roadie in this

year’s AIDS/LifeCycle, bless you and your commitment. If you’re not, consider sponsoring Emily or David. (www.aid- slifecycle.org)
