The four times winner of the Crystal Cabin Award, Lamera, is a spin-off company from Volvo offering weight saving materials for the weight sensitive markets. The main product, the metal sheet sandwich material Hybrix can be used to dramatically reduce the weight of sheet metal components in e.g. aircraft interiors. Hybrix is tested and approved according to the relevant sections of FAR/JAR 25.853. Besides demonstrating new weight saving applications for stainless and carbon steel Hybrix and DecoBrix (a cost saving surface technology for colours and textures that will replace anodizing, painting and decorative laminates), Lamera will also introduce Hybrix in aluminium.
