RenewableUK 2010 Annual Conference & Exhibition – Glasgow
TUESDAY 2ND NOVEMBER DAWNED,WELL DAWNED IS PROBABLY THEWRONGWORD AS THE SUNWAS RATHER CONSPICUOUS BY ITS ABSENCE. IT HAD BEEN REPLACED BY TORRENTIAL RAIN OVER THE PREVIOUS 24 HOURS –WELL THAT’S SCOTLAND FOR YOU!
In contrast the atmosphere within the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre was as sunny as it could be – it was refreshing to experience such a vibrant and positive atmosphere in an industry which has only one way to go – onwards and upwards!
RenewableUK has been running this showcase event for many years now but even they must have experienced the excitement of the exhibitors, delegates and visitors who thronged the halls, conference rooms and auditoriums.
Representing our new publication and trying very hard to speak to the relevant individuals was difficult because, at times we could not penetrate the crowds of people wanting to speak to representatives from all the exhibiting companies present.
This was a 3 day event and as such usually quietens considerably on the last day however it appeared just as busy right up to the end on Thursday afternoon.
Organised and managed by RenewableUK there was an atmosphere of controlled professionalism which spread from the exhibition through to the conference and certainly influenced the speakers who were without exception interesting, informative and above all professional.
The format of running an exhibition in tandem with an informative conference programme is no easy formula but it seemed to work well. There were organised social events within the exhibition hall, as well as individual companies holding impromptu gatherings for visitors which gave a friendly, but professional atmosphere, enjoyed by all.
