Editor Editor Dear reader,

For myself, October has been an artistically stimulating month. Personal highlights include exhibition tours of the magnificent Surreal Friends at the Sainsbury Centre and Norwich Castle’s Art of Faith.

Surreal Friends celebrates the artistic achievements and extraordinary lives of three leading female surrealists and includes a comprehensive selection of their works. The Art of Faith is a celebration of creative works inspired by spiritual devotion and explores the religious art and history of the diverse array of Norfolk faiths. I heartily recommend you visit both.

November offers a number of additional fine art exhibitions. The Cathedral’s Hostry presents Douglas Farthing’s 2years2wars from the 1st to the 20th; the etchings and lithographs of Sir Frank Brangwyn are on display at Crome Gallery from the 2nd to the 28th; and Norwich Arts Centre plays host to Rob Hillier’s List Landscapes from the 6th. Hillier’s large-scale prints bare his unique Sylexiad typeface, a series developed for the adult dyslexic reader, and include influences as diverse as the landscape paintings of The Norwich School. I, for one, am intrigued.

Featured inside this month’s edition of Fine City Magazine: King Street and its unique medieval trading hall, ‘60s inspired Mad Men glamour, the ever-evolving Marketplace, Heart Radio’s Chris Marston and much, much more.

Enjoy…

Thom Editor
