THIS SEASON’S MAKE-UP
This autumn and winter is all about the polished finish - cashmere skin and strong eyes with a 1960s influence. To achieve the look inspired by the glamorous cast of Mad Men, a mineral foundation with a matte finish (BareMinerals Matte in medium beige) was applied to achieve a radiant and flawless base. A matte bronzer (Benefit - Hoola) was also applied to the high points of the face, adding contour and definition, and an apricot blusher (Nars Orgasm) to the apples of the cheeks for a flush of colour. The eye is the focal point of this look, and its impact relies on its monochromatic use of black and white. A primer (Urban Decay Primer Potion) was applied all over the eye to create an even base, and on top a matte white shadow all the way up to the brows (Rimmel Colour Rush Mono Matte White). A black eyeshadow (BareMinerals Onyx) was then carefully traced to an arc in the crease of the eyelid, and a black gel liner (Clinique) created a heavy liquid streak across the lash line. Two coats of volumising black mascara (DiorShow BlackOut) were applied, and a row of false lashes was attached to the bottom corners, for a wide-eyed ‘Twiggy’ look. A nude pink matte lipstick (Mac Snob) finishes the look.
