The fashionable faces of our fine city

In a city such as Norwich, one might expect its various influences to filter into the population’s own outlet of self-expression. How has its growing art culture, ever- present history and population of locals and newcomers inspired Norwich’s idea of style and fashion? On our first venture, here’s what we found Norwich had to offer:

20 yrs - Illustration Student at NUCA

It was Ryan’s amazing jumper that made us chase him. Te jumper in question is from Zara and was

teamed with jeans. Ryan described his look as “Trown Together”.

AMIE “PATSY” FARR

21 yrs - Textiles Student/Bartender/ Waitress

RYAN LEWIS

Fondly nicknamed Patsy aſter the character in AbFab, Amie described her style as “Charity Shop Whore”. Amie’s look is eclectic, put together from a combination of pieces from ebay, jumble sale bargains and her mum’s cardigan. I loved Amie’s skirt.

46 yrs - Fashion Stylist We found Karen in Daisy and Lola’s,

adorned in a vintage 1950s green suit, bought for her by her husband, styled with Jimmy Choo red stilettos. Karen has unquestionable original style that she passionately described as “Old Hollywood”.

35 yrs - Senior Assistant at Elements

Lee said he was inspired by contemporary culture. It was his hair, cut at the Crop Shop on Castle Meadow, and his retro- rimmed glasses that made him stand out.

LAUREN SIMMONS 20 yrs - Textiles Student at NUCA

Lauren caught our eye as we were wandering near Pottergate in the Lanes. Te first to be subject to our scrutiny, Lauren’s style has a retro air about it. She wears a vintage, crushed black- velvet body-con dress teamed with a necklace from Diamonds and Pearls in Te Castle Mall. She named the inspiration for her outfits as the 1940s, but, obviously, with a modern twist. She creates her own hairstyles with a little help from Flint.
