Cornell Dubilier Electrolytic Capacitors Handle 30g Continuous Vibration
New Bedford, MA — Cornell Dubelier Electronics, Inc., has introduced a ruggedized SMT aluminum electrolytic capacitor series, able to withstand con- tinuous vibrations of up to 30g of stress. This dura- bility makes the new AFK V series especially well- suited to military and transportation applications, as well as for robotics. The series offers low impedance and up to
5,000 hours life at 105°C (221°F), at rated voltage. Available capacitance values range from 10µF to 6,800µF, with voltage ratings of 6.3 to 100VDC. Packaged in a metal V-chip, SMT case, the
new capacitors use a combination of three mechan- ical enhancements, which provide greater vibration resistance when compared with the standard SMT package. A support terminal was added to suppress vibration of the molded support base to the PCB, and therefore reduce contact stress. The support base was extended
to create a high retention wall struc- ture to better support the capacitor body. In an effort to reduce internal vibration of the capacitor winding, a larger diameter lead wire is used,

which is very effective at eliminating internal lead breakage at critical stress points. The company offers its capacitors with high-
vibration resistance for applications in circuitry onboard rough terrain vehicles and factory automation. Other applications include industrial power conversion, lighting control, and automotive
applications. Contact: Cornell Dubilier Electronics, Inc.,

on its LCD. It is powered by a nine- volt battery, has a focus ring range finder and a microcomputer circuit. The device can be used to measure the polarity and intensity of static charges on components in ESD sensi- tive areas, and assembly lines. The field meter conforms to
RoHS, S.20.20-2007 specifications, CE mark NIST listing, and ships with a calibration certificate. The company also provides the Ohm-Stat RT-1000 resistance meter to assist manufacturers in performing ESD
audits or testing. Contact: Static Solutions, Inc.,
