Akrometrix Releases Panel Warpage Measurement System

Atlanta, GA — Akrometrix LLC, a provider of thermal warpage and strain metrology equipment, has re- leased its entry into the Fan Out Wafer Level Processing (FOWLP) market with the AKM600P. The ma- chine is a single-shot full field of view warpage metrology system for panels up to 600 x 600mm (23.6 x 23.6in). Scalable manufacturing tech-

nology is driving the industry’s need to move from wafer sized limitations in the FOWLP market to panel- based manufacturing. Moving be- yond wafers to panel sized substrates is a logical step, since they have been used in the LCD industry for years. The company’s metrology sys-

using patented Shadow Moiré tech- nology. In addition, warpage meas- urements can be conducted at room temperature, or up to 300°C (572°F) for those who need thermal profiles. The company hopes the system

will become a bridge tool for cus- tomers who process wafers and also

develop panel technology. Contact: Akrometrix LLC, 2700 NE Expressway, Building B, Suite

It’s just one small connection. Often smaller than a millimeter wide. But done right, it can save you millions. At Alpha, we place even the smallest electronic assembly challenge in a bigger light. As part of an assembly process that turns particles of material

into products and innovations that

change the world. So when we think of that one connection and how to do it better, we think of where it fits into your business. Because while it may be hard to see, your future success is connected there too. AlphaAssembly.com

Tool North Billerica, MA — BTU Interna- tional, a supplier of thermal process- ing equipment, has partnered with thermal measurement company ECD to combine its recipe generator with BTU’s Wincon furnace operat- ing system. The recipe generator is currently available through the com- pany’s M.O.L.E series of thermal profiling systems, and will be re- leased in early 2016 as part of BTU’s Pyramax reflow product line. The technology is planned to be

a comprehensive recipe prediction tool, due to its process settings for zone temperatures and belt speed, which take into account the convec- tion rate — a significant element of heat transfer. According to ECD, the partner-

ship owes much to the consistency of BTU’s closed-loop pressure control systems. Because the ovens main- tain a constant convection pressure, the system can obtain accurate pro- file control. The companies hope to keep the productivity of the oven systems high, and the running cost low. The new tool is designed to de- crease the time it takes to set up an oven, and make the process of gener- ating starting recipes for new SMT
