TRUMPF Chooses ClassOne’s Solstice Plating System
Kalispell, MT — ClassOne Technolo- gy, a semiconductor equipment man- ufacturer, has sold a Solistic® S8 Plating System to semiconductor laser manufacturer TRUMPF Pho- tonics. The new system will be in- stalled at the company’s facility in Cranbury, New Jersey, and used for gold plating and metal lift-off. ClassOne worked with the engi-
neers at TRUMPF to develop the processes that the company request- ed. Owing to precision in the plating system, the engineers were able to control the stress within the deposit- ed films, and make the process re- peatable. The Solstice S8 is an automated
eight-chamber electroplating tool that can deliver up to 75W of power. Designed for 200mm (7.87in) sub- strates or smaller, transparent or opaque, the system performs a vari- ety of electroplating and related processes using various metals — high pressure metal lift-off, resist strip, UBM etch, and others. The product family also in- cludes the Solstice LT for process de-
