5200 Senior Pairs A. Test qualifications as of the closing date for entry to the regional championships: Both partners must have passed the senior moves in the field test and the senior pair test.
B. Age requirements as of Sept. 1 prior to the regional championships: None Must contain the following seven elements in any order LIFT One overhead lift
• Must be any hand-to-hand lift take off (Group 4) • Full extension of the lifting arm(s) is mandatory
TWIST LIFT One twist lift (double or triple) • Take off must be a flip or a Lutz
THROW JUMP
One throw jump (double or triple)
SOLO JUMP One solo jump (double or triple) SPIN
One pair spin combination
• Any double or triple throw jump is permitted • Any double or triple jump is permitted
• Only one change of foot (made at the same time by both partners) • At least one change of position
• Minimum of eight revolutions total • May not be commenced with a jump
DEATH SPIRAL
STEP
• The rotation must be continuous, and no stop is permitted One backward outside death spiral
• Only the prescribed death spiral is permitted
• When death spiral position is attained, both partners must execute a minimum of one revolution with man in full pivot position
SEQUENCE
• Lady’s head must reach the level of her skating knee One step sequence
• Must fully utilize the ice surface
REMARKS • Unless otherwise stated, all elements must meet the general criteria and basic requirements in order to be counted (see rule section 5100).
• Connecting steps are permitted and must be marked. They are not additional elements. • Jumps, throw jumps and twist lifts that do not satisfy requirements will have no value. *Note: Requirements for future seasons can be found at usfigureskating.org
• Though a spiral sequence is no longer an element of the pairs short program, the execution of spirals will be rewarded in transitions.
• At least two different basic positions or their variations by both partners with at least two revolutions in each position
• Minimum of one and maximum of 3½ revolutions by the man
