MES FIFA FINALLY ENDS PS2 RUN
THE announcement of FIFA 15 was a moment, not a particularly big one, but a moment all the same in the life of the PlayStation 2. Sony’s mega-selling console, which remains the best-selling video games machine of all time (worldwide at least), has had a FIFA game every single year since 2000. This year it won’t (anyone who has seen the Chart-Track sales reports
will understand why). That means there’s no PS2 game on the release schedule. It feels ridiculous to feel
sad about that. The fact that people were still buying games for a console that’s now 14-years old was remarkable, and an achievement unlikely to be matched. Particularly when you consider the decline in PS3 and 360 sales. More on that next week.
THE RETURN OF GRID
