Having originally stemmed from the entrepreneurial effort of brothers Vincent and Secondo Torta, the Firm, which is now organised as a joint-stock company and has Mr. Luigi Boggio as its President, has six operative offices in Italy (Turin, Milan, Bologna, Treviso, Rimini and Rome) and two abroad (Munich and Alicante).

The staff includes about fifty professionals and more than one hundred secretary assistants. Francesco Fiussello joined Studio Torta in 1998 after a first experience in the patent department of a chemical Company and became an associate in January 2005; he in food

chemistry, biotechnology, pharmaceutical technology, biopolymers. He has also assisted clients in the deposit of biological material under the Budapest Treaty. He is a registered Italian and European patent attorney since 2004. He is an active member of the Italian Association of Patent Searchers (AIDB).

He has a great experience in patent 26

searches and in validity, infringement and legal opinions. He has assisted clients in multinational litigation in the fields of food chemistry, biopolymers and pharmaceuticals.

He has an extensive experience in opposition and appeal proceedings before the European Patent Office.

Numerous lectures within Italy and abroad on different subjects, particularly regarding patent portfolio management for small and medium enterprises and more recently on the unitary patent Regulations and the unified patent court. He fluently speaks English and German and has a good knowledge of French.
