in, casino revenues go up,” says Tracy Cherney, executive vice president of sales and marketing. Venues already equipped with the system have noted an uptick in carded play- some as much as a 30-per-cent rise within a 90-day period, she says. Additionally operators can bolster excitement on the floor by utilising the system to roll out

an additional tier in the inner section of the wheel: the dragon track (six dragons in total- two gold, four silver) offering players another betting opportunity. If the player’s number and dragon bet both align, the gambler wins. Director of marketing Luke Davis says it’s 100 to 1 for the silver dragon and 300 to 1 on the gold dragon. Other adapted games conceived for this

market include Dragon 21, a fusion of blackjack and baccarat. The player is dealt two hands; instead of aiming for the baccarat score, the objective is to reach 21. Modernized tables were also unveiled at the

show, including a Sic Bo table designed with an LED-panel and felt-surface, offering a more animative presence to the casino floor. Integrated with a touch-screen feature, the dealer taps in the results of the dice so the appropriate squares on the layout light up. Operators can also theme the tables during promotions or special occasions, says Davis, making the surface a marketing tool. He adds, “The table allows casino operators a platform to be more creative whilst offering more information to players.”

TransAct: Epic Wins for Casinos EpiCentral was the star attraction at TransAct

Technologies Inc’s booth at G2E 2013, its latest coupon printer that allows operators a more customised way to market and message directly to players on the slot games. Since the system has identified the players,

the device can disseminate targeted coupons in real-time. The print outs can detail restaurant meal offers, birthday gifts, lucky draw items, tickets to the venue’s non-gambling attractions and more, making the device is an aid for the operator’s marketing arm in executing customer loyalty programs. EpiCentral works on any slot game.

“The big news is that when EpiCentral goes JUNE 2013 41

promotional events, such as lucky draws. “With another new way to win through EpiCentral, players never know if they’re going to get a free play or coupon offer, which creates tremendous excitement on the floor.” Casinos in America and Europe have already

embraced the technology and it won’t be long before operators in Asia will follow suit as several venues in the region are already equipped with Epic 950 printers. “The Epic 950 printer is what allows these casinos to implement EpiCentral: Any operator with an Epic 950 can simply upgrade to the EpiCentral,” reveals Chernay. The executive says customers in the region have already expressed interest in moving forward with the system so it won’t be long before the company makes an announcement of its first Asian customer with the new system.
