Hoylake Open Scratch Mixed Foursomes saw 128 golfers start out on Saturday morning in the knock-out with just 4 couples remaining on Monday. In the first semi-final top seeds Becky Dowell and Carl Corbin from Wakefield beat Martin Pyke and Anne Wheble from Dartmouth, before facing local golfer Claire Fry partnered by Mark Duncalf from Formby. It proved third time lucky for the Merseyside pair having played together for the last two years. The other semi-finalists were Sheila Quisley and Gareth Sheridan from Surrey. The consolation event saw another local player triumph when Lauren Drake from Wallasey partnered by Rajiv Patel of Wentworth GC overcame Gareth Aspey and Lucy Eaton from Skipton.
