The NEC Colour Calibration kit is utilised to ensure all 32 of the NEC displays are perfectly match. The videowall is driven by a Matrox MURA videowall controller which delivers multiple full high definition inputs to the videowall. Tom Makin, Systems Integrator at Candeo Vision explains how all content is displayed within custom templates designed for the ultra-high resolution screens: “Integrated iPad screen mirroring is achieved by interfacing with the Matrox MURA system to dynamically control the size and visibility of an Apple Airplay window overlaid on the screen. Candeo Vision’s custom software solution also incorporates ethernet device control allowing power to all NEC screens to be controlled directly from the iPad or any workstation in the office.”
Candeo’s software set comprises a backend server application for routing control commands throughout the installation and a front end display application for rendering photo, video and CAD content on the videowall with a consistent look and feel. This includes a dynamic background image which simulates clouds slowly drifting across the videowall. Customers tap in their budget, the age of the jet they want to fly in, how many people they want to carry and the most distant destination city. The App recalls all the jets that fit the criteria, and all the new and used aircraft of that type currently on the market.
Alan Betts, Director at Candeo Vision comments, “throughout the design phase it was exciting to
work closely with the client to help them bring a long standing vision to reality. The seamless integration between the iOS App, the Matrox GPU hardware and the NEC displays is an industry first and a great example of the videowall displays in use.”
Working with Varsano for almost a year in the build-up to the launch of The Jet Business, Burns reflects that “without question, The Jet Business is one of the most talked about and revered projects across the industry and Viastak is proud to help Steve fulfil his ambition for the space. THE RESULT
The Jet Business showroom is a completely immersive and interactive experience which relies on technology rather than actual aircraft (it would be impossible to park 135 different jets in central London) to help buyers decide on which is the best business jet for them. Varsano is attracting the attention of customers as they travel through London, “this is the best window storefront for high net worth eyeballs in four continents (Middle East, ex CIS, Europe and Africa). Anyone who can afford to acquire a corporate jet in one of these continents will regularly pass through the London triangle of Knightsbridge, Mayfair and Belgravia” he says. “When they come round that corner in the back of their chauffeur-driven car they have to look in this window. We are building the first
consumer brand in business jet trading.”
Reflecting on the success of the installation, Robin Brooks, IT Manager and Developer at The Jet Business is appreciative of the expertise provided by the installation team. “The support from all third parties has been fantastic in getting the install perfect, which is what our high profile showroom demands. Just the sheer size of the videowall has necessitated innovate solutions to make it work at a good price point.”
