INNOVATIVE INTERIORS

This year’s INTERIORS UK has placed a great level of focus on the future of retail, so we’ve researched some of the highlights to look out for if you’re planning a visit!

Some of the trendiest names in interiors and design will be descending on Birmingham this January for INTERIORS UK. Held at the NEC Birmingham from the 20th – 23rd January 2013, the show brings together some of the most outofthebox interior ideas alongside new takes on well established designs. The show’s Guest Designer for this year

is Nina Campbell, who will be designing the show entrance and getting involved in the entire INTERIORS UK experience. The show will feature a number of ‘signature spaces’, with room concepts created by a number of designers. Nina Campbell’s ‘Shop’ and ‘House’ spaces look set to offer an exciting glimpse at the designer’s incredible eye for detail.

The exhibition has teamed up with Birmingham City University, Global Color Research™ and digital wall covering brand Tektura to explore 2013/14 trend predictions from Mix Publications. Innovative students from the Birmingham Institute of Art & Design have also been invited to get involved in the discussion, so it’ll be exciting to see the outcome. The partnership is now heading into its sixth year, with over 500 students engaging with industry experts and gaining work placements, internships and employment. Each year the results of this meeting of

the minds are a joy to see, with designs being taken up by huge name brands and often launching the careers of a range of new designers. This is a great opportunity to get an insight into the future of design, and to witness budding designers getting their work seen by the right people. Birmingham City University has worked alongside Interiors and Lifestyle Futures and collaborated with a number of designers and manufacturers to develop
