Christmas Windows

“This year the Selfridges Christmas windows were inspired by our brilliant "Not your usual Christmas" campaign, which was devised by our Creative Director Alannah Weston and shot by Bruce Weber,” explains Sarah McCullough, Windows and Concept Manager at the famous Selfridges department store. The idea behind the scheme was to create a sense of the store coming to life late on Christmas Day, turning some of the traditional aspects of Christmas on their heads. Quintessential aspects of the festive

season take centre stage in the scheme, with a cocktail of contemporary and traditional interpretations. Weber has created a ‘dreamlike fantasia’, where bewitching ballerinas, wistful fairies and miniature horses pulling sleighs all play their part. There is also a focus on the Selfridges Pantone 109, which played a central role in Selfridges 100th Anniversary celebration. “To add a sprinkle of magic, we've

brought a little of the outside inside, with a real tree growing inside a window but with its branches reaching through the window, out and above the street whilst snow drifts around the mannequins feet. We hope all of these ingredients conjure an enchanting festive fantasy,” concludes McCullough.
