Work normally starts for me at about 6.30am, but not in the shape of the business as most of my employees will testify to! It is the dreaded school run, which involves dragging small children aged 10 and 12 out of their beds and shouting at them all the way into the car. I then normally get into work about 9.15, which makes me comfortably the latest person in the office. Although, on a
serious note, these days you do start the day checking your emails and sometimes making endless calls before getting to the office.
As a company we work in many
department stores in the evening, fitting out promotional sites and retail builds, so there are always conversations that need to be had on the night before work. The bonus of the long drive in is

that I have plenty of time to think about the day ahead and any challenges coming our way, so this does give me time without too many distractions before I step into the office. We are still quite a young company, but
we have grown at such a rate that there are now over 45 of us. I have been lucky enough to persuade some great people to join The Attic Room, some I’ve worked with in the past and others that have come highly recommended. This makes the job of running the company enjoyable, as everyone is experienced and good at their job, and the whole team gels together to provide the success that the company has enjoyed to date. ethos is that however big we get, we still have fun. I have often said to people if it stops being fun, then we need to stop altogether because however stressful and busy we get we need it to be enjoyable. The other part of the success of the company is that so many people have joined us and stayed, which is so good for consistency and teamwork, and for clients it is reassuring that the team is fully behind them.
