Chicken Cyclekit
A FULL Deda carbon forks range is available from Chicken for all disciplines. Dedacciai decided 20 years ago to research alternative raw material usage which led to the use of raw carbon and now it is highly regarded in of carbon frames and fork production. The Black Fin Road fork (pictured) absorbs rough road surfaces well, Chicken tells BikeBiz, with it comfortable yet precise and stiff. ROCKSHOX CREATED the first MTB suspension fork in 1989 and the fork and shock tech specialist covers product from the lofty heights of WC racing to entry-level trail riding. The brand has a host of new offerings for 2013 including the Revelation 650b in XX, RCT3, SID 120mm 29er, Reverb Stealth and the Reverb 34.9. There’s now consistent branding

For 2012, the left fork leg houses a new progressive air spring while the right has a lighter, improved damping cartridge complete with hydraulic remote speed-lock and external adjustable rebound. The XC/All-mountain fork Epicon is available in a number of different models, while the SF12 Epicon X1 TA-LO-RC 15QLC 26-inch is a travel adjust fork, meaning riders can change the travel from 150mm to 110mm on the fly. MANITOU’S XC/ light trail Marvel Pro fork sports 120mm of travel, with stand-out features like the TPC (Twin Piston Chamber), a shim-based damper that uses two independently adjustable pistons: one optimised for rebound, the other for compression. Absolute is a platform-style damper – the fork can be set to remain rigid until a certain impact threshold is exceeded, the benefit being pedalling efficiency, so suspension doesn’t hurt pedalling efficiency by compressing the fork rather than propelling the bike forward.
