Single wire solutions
Available fromstock, DMTL's AVX 9176 series of insulation displacement contact connectors has been developed to connect individual wires directly to a PCB. The IDC contact provides a gas-tight connection to the wire conductor while the housing ‘grabs’ the insulation to provide positive strain relief under harsh conditions.
The contact systemhas been tested to
withstand automotive levels of vibration, shock and temperature cycling, while simple
wire insertion allows a range of devices, such as LEDs, to be connected to the PCB without soldering.
In solid state lighting applications, these
connectors are typically used to bring power and signal to the board or to daisy-chain multiple boards together. Available in a one to three pin configuration, the 9176 connectors are end stackable for higher pin counts.
