f you’re planning on doing any fibre glassing and want to learn the skills needed to get it right first time, then this month’s competition is definitely for you! We’ve teamed up with CYB Glass Fibre Technology who is offering a free one-day workshop to three lucky readers.
The CYB Glass Fibre Moulding Workshops are designed to give you the knowledge to carry out repairs and to produce small mouldings in polyester resin and fibreglass. This is a one-day course, packed with a very extensive programme.
What’s involved?
The day covers the basic procedures involved in producing a product in fibreglass, and candidates will have the opportunity to produce a small moulding as well as learn how to carry out a repair to a GRP laminate. The course takes place on a Saturday and begins with registration and coffee at 8.45am. After learning about mould preparation, gelling, laminating, releasing mouldings, repair techniques and how to apply fibre glass to your DIY project such as a flat roof or garden pond, the course will finish at approximately 5pm. These popular workshops offer the opportunity to learn about the many uses of glass-reinforced plastics, as well as repair techniques that will save you time and money in the future.

About CYB Glass Fibre Technology CYB Glass Fibre Technology have a wealth of experience in the past construction of a small family cruiser, both for the British and overseas market. Our factory premises on Canvey Island in Essex have seen the construction of thousands of yachts over the last 40 years.
Using this experience and knowledge CYB can offer advice on any GRP project from areas of DIY to large industrial projects such as flat roofs, garden ponds and boat repairs. Knowing how much material to use is always difficult when you first start using GRP. CYB Glass Fibre are happy to advise you on exactly the right amount of Resin, chopped strand mat etc, as well as ancillary items.
