Eureka Springs MOA Getaway By Vance Harrelson #100402
ANOTHER MOA GETAWAY EVENT was held the weekend of August 21-22 in the magnificent mountains of northwest Arkansas. This edition of the popular MOA Getaways was based at the Best Western Inn of the Ozarks in the heart of Eureka Springs. The Inn provided plenty of rooms, spacious parking, a poolside area, and a Conference Center to host the scheduled events. Riders arrived from all directions
on Friday from states as far away as Florida, Wisconsin, Colorado and North Carolina. The Friday night reception was held poolside with a buffet of hamburgers, hot dogs and all the trimmings. This was a great time for our members and guests to meet old friends and new, while making their plans for Saturday. Some would ride and some would shop the stores and shops of historic Eureka Springs. Saturday morning a host of excited
riders awakened to cloudy skies and the threat of rain, but that did not dampen their spirits! Ride maps were furnished to each guest with their registration in a booklet compiled and published by the local Chamber. Armed with this information and Fri- day evening’s time to plan, they departed in all directions throughout the morning. Six adventure riders left early on what turned out to be a very interesting dual sport ride! It was fun to meet riders from our group, several times approaching from the opposite direction and around the next curve. I think it was safe to say we had the area covered with Beemers this weekend! Saturday afternoon riders all
returned and gathered for a fantastic social time to share their stories of the day and enjoy the huge buffet dinner. It is safe to say that no one left this event hungry! After dinner, President

Chuck Manley welcomed everyone and invited those that had special stories from the weekend to share with the group. Chuck drew the lucky winners of the dozens of door prizes there and awarded the grand prize certificate to one lucky attendee who will enjoy his choice of an on or off road training session at the BMW Performance Center! If you have not attended one of these
events, check the schedule posted in the Owners News and on the website. The
MOA Getaway events are designed for you to check out some great riding locations in a smaller more intimate rally format, usu- ally with groups of 100 or so attendees. These events are family oriented and per- fect for couples, too! Be sure to watch for the 2016 list of MOA Getaways coming soon!
