Outstanding riders gather in Billings ALONG WITH THE VENDORS,


seminars, demo rides, and everything else experienced in Billings, Mon- tana, during the 43rd annual BMW MOA International Rally, there were a group of riders who entered the realm of the big dogs. Take note of these names and expect to hear their names again in the years to come. The Youngest Female Riders were


Ann Martens at 18 years, 1 month and 22 days; Cierra Reynolds at 18 years, 2 months and 13 days; and Madeline Belken at 19 years, 5 months and 16 days. Youngest Male Riders included


Timothy Urban at 16 years, 10 months and 21 days; Nathan Gee at 16 years, 10 months and 26 days; and Liam Mallivary at 17 years, 9 months and 29 days. It is easy to see that our rid- ing community will be in good hands for years ahead.


The Youngest Saddle Passenger was


Santiago De La Mora at 10 years, 6 months and 4 days who rode behind his father all the way from Jauslo, Mexico. The Youngest Sidecar Passenger was


Nathan Gifford at 6 years, 3 months and 13 days. The Oldest Female Rider was Alice


Hanes at 83 years, 11 months and 24 days, while the Oldest Male Rider was David Carter at 90 years, 8 months and 4 days. The Oldest Saddle Passenger was Sharon Hautau at 74 years, 9 months and 13 days. The Oldest Combination of Rider, Pas-


senger and Bike was Ernst and Brigitte Wagner at 183 years, 5 months and 3 days. The Oldest Combination of Rider and Bike was Sam Ott at 114 years, and the Old- est BMW Ridden to the Rally was a 1962 R 69 S piloted by Thomas Homan, riding from Iowa. The Long Distance Female Solo and Solo Male Riders were Marilyn Wright and


Sandy MacLeod, whose journey from Nova Scotia totaled 2,886 miles. The Long Distance Male Rider 2 Up


winners were Frank and Amanda Clark, riding from New Hampshire and accumu- lating 2,241 miles. The North American Tour Award goes to Douglas Reed of Flor- ida, who accumulated 14,418 miles. Long Distance Sidecar Rider was won by Jona- than Gifford from Pennsylvania, who rode 1,972 miles. The Chartered Club with the most


members present was the BMW Motorcy- cle Club of Minnesota with 51 members present, and the Largest Virtual Club was the GS Giants, with 206 members present. Finally, the GS Giant Track Winner was


Dennis Godwin, and The GS Giant was John Glisinki. Yes, there are riders and then there are outstanding riders!


2015 Rally Charity Challenge


FOR THE PAST 22 YEARS, THE PORT WASHINGTON BMW Club has challenged other Charter Clubs to donate $100 for our chosen charity. Thirteen Chartered Clubs accepted the challenge and thanks to all of the generous support, a check in the amount of $17,243 was presented to Regina Griemsman, Executive Director of Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Yellowstone County at the closing ceremony. In addition to the Port Washington Charter Club challenge


donations, $7,370 was gathered by 50/50 volunteers roaming the rally site. Additional donations were collected at Lost and Found, First Aid, Ice Sales, the Charging Station and the Bike Wash/Oil Change, while the coffee team gathered $732 and the sewing team added another $1,632. Bob’s BMW added to the total amount gathered by giving


the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Yellowstone County $2,223, while the BMW Motorcycle Owners of America donated $1,000. Thank you to all for your continued generosity and to the crew of hardworking volunteers at the rally.
