NFPA 70E, 2004 – Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace


This standard addresses electrical safety requirements for


workplaces that are necessary for the practical safeguarding of employees relative to the hazards associated with electrical energy.


Testing includes electric arc exposure, flame resistance (before and after 25 wash/dry cycles), tear resistance, breaking strength, dimensional change in laundering, colorfastness to laundering/dry cleaning, and yarn slippage.


NFPA 2112, 2012 – Standard on Flame-Resistant Garments for Protection Against Flash Fire


The standard specifies the minimum performance requirements and test methods for flame-resistant fabrics and components; and the design and certification requirements for garments for use in areas at risk from flash fires.


Testing includes flame resistance (before and after 100 wash/dry cycles), thermal protective performance (TPP), heat resistance, thermal shrinkage, and manikin flash fire.
