said, “It stunned me and it was certainly an emotional moment. I have said many times before that I have regarded it as a huge privilege to work with PSIA-AASI members from all over the nation, and to hang out with the best of our profession is reward enough for anything I may have contributed.” PSIA-AASI Chair Ed Younglove presented

Armstrong with the award, borrowing a quote from Isaac Newton. “‘If I can see further than

I should it’s because I stand on the shoulders of giants,’” said Younglove. “John was one of the tallest. He was a mentor, a contemporary, and a great friend. His visions for PSIA-AASI have been instrumental in getting us where we are today.” Previous recipients of the Lifetime

Achievement Award include PSIA co- founders Jimmy Johnston, Bill Lash, Max Dercum, Doug Pfeiffer, Donald Rhinehart, and Curt Chase; past presidents Ray Allard and Mark Anderson, as well as PSIA-AASI members Junior Bounous, Hal O’Leary, Doug Pringle, Herbert Schneider, Jerry Warren, and John Peppler.
