JESSUP GALA 2016

‘Light the World’ was the theme of last years' annual Jessup Gala, a record-breaking event that raised over $210,000 for student scholarships. Held in downtown Sacramento at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, the Gala welcomed over 350 guests and provided an in-depth look at some of the growing university’s students, past, present and future. The night featured musical guests, distinguished alumni, a silent auction, four- course dinner and a “State of the University” inspirational message from WJU President John Jackson. “This event is a wonderful

representation of the tremendous impact William Jessup University has on our students, surrounding community and around the world,” said Jessup’s Chief Development Officer Eric Hogue. “Receiving a quality, affordable Christian liberal arts education positions our students to excel in their chosen field resulting in a stronger workforce both locally and beyond.”

JESSUP ATHLETICS & OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

The William Jessup Warriors worked together to compete in the GSAC Operation Christmas Child Challenge. Across the conference, schools put together care packages for children to be sent overseas and given to less fortunate families. Jessup more than tripled the amount of packages sent last year by gathering 62 total boxes! Thanks to the #ONEwarrior family for your donations and contributions in making this possible!

MCBEAN MEMORIAL PARK OPENING DAY

January 2017 was one for the

history books as Jessup University and the City of Lincoln kicked off the inaugural season of Jessup Baseball at the newly renovated McBean Memorial Park. The community came out to fill

the bleachers and root, root, rooted for the home team at the old ball game this spring as William Jessup University’s Warriors and the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce hosted good old fashioned family fun during Opening Day at McBean Baseball Stadium.

Kicking off with a Fun Zone

Experience for kids, and feeding the crowds with burgers, dogs, drinks, tailgaiting and more, game ceremonies included recognition of Lincoln Little League Players, ceremonial first pitches, a live performance of the National Anthem from #JessupMusic complete with fireworks and a fly- over [pictured], finishing off with the introduction of Jessup’s Warrior Lineup before it was time to play ball! For information on future games

open to the public at McBean, visit JessupAthletics.com including links to Jessup Athletics on social media.

JESSUP MISSIONS 2017

Seven teams of Jessup students are preparing to shine their light around the world this summer when they embark on a variety of trips to regions including East, South and Southeast Asia, Central America as well as three locations in Eastern Europe. Look for more information in future issues to learn more about these trips. Jessup is grateful to partner with the

worldwide Church in the fulfillment of the Great Commission by sending short-term Global Outreach teams every year. Our purpose and prayer in sending Jessup teams is to: 1. Support those working to make God’s name known around the world. 2. Lead our participants toward a Great Commission lifestyle. 3. Holistically develop student participants and leaders into people of faith, discipleship and service. 4. Give students the tangible opportunity to participate in Kingdom work in a culture different than their own. Please be in prayer for our teams

as they formulate plans to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ all for God’s glory.
