ACADEMICS A
n institution committed to providing Christ-centered higher education, William Jessup University is acutely aware that students are, as the psalmist writes, “fearfully and wonderfully made.” Each
student is uniquely created by God who has prepared them for good works.
WHO ARE THESE STUDENTS COMING TO JESSUP’S CAMPUS?
Students who are looking for an “uncommon” education that is highly individualized, that challenges them with a biblical worldview and causes them to become catalytic change agents in the world. Students who are looking for an “uncommon” education
that is highly individualized, challenges them with a biblical worldview and causes them to become catalytic change agents in the world. This post-millennial generation is aptly being referred to as ‘digital natives,’ meaning the majority of students Jessup currently serves have never known a world without the Internet. Their unprecedented access to information and data has made these students diverse in both their background and experience. They fiercely desire an education that is not only customized, but allows for personal growth and connection, ultimately culminating in a transformative experience.
HOW DOES WJU SERVE THESE DIVERSE, AGE-OF-INFORMATION STUDENTS?
The university provides an 11:1 student-faculty ratio. Students have ample opportunity to meet with our accessible faculty both in and outside of class. Within the next two years, most academic programs will have an enhanced mentorship component enabling students to meet regularly with faculty members and be counseled both academically and holistically. Building strong
relationships with
faculty members connects students to job and internship opportunities outside the classroom thus leading to better job and graduate school prospects upon commencement. Jessup is also committed to providing a strong community
element to the campus culture. At Sunset Hall, students live on “L”-shaped wings focused around a central common area where they gather and share in life. The core aim of Jessup’s Student Life staff is to build a sense of connection, providing opportunities to foster friendships that are meaningful, impactful and lasting. As the cost of private Christian higher education
continues to rise, Jessup is committed to remaining accessible and affordable. WJU’s tuition is one of the most affordable for a private, Christian university in California and approximately 99 percent of students receive financial

aid. Jessup offers scholarship and grant opportunities based on merit, academics and need. Student debt burden at Jessup is 35% less than the national average for college graduates. At the beginning of each new school year, members of
the incoming class write their desired career choice on a chalkboard and have their picture taken as they proudly display their academic choice that will frame their area of study during the next four years of their life. From future counselors to physicians to business entrepreneurs, students at William Jessup University will not only be prepared for the calling God has placed on their lives, they’ll be transformed into leaders that will spark change across the world.
