Robert Cannon Retires (continued from page 1)

He looks forward to more fishing and getting to spend more time with Beverly traveling on their motorcycle. Robert loves his O.U. Sooners and plans to still support them in his retirement. He also would like to continue to volunteer in Special Olympics as he has done during his time at Cimarron Electric Coop- erative.

Robert and Beverly Cannon

Even through all the advancements we’ve seen over the years, you still need a lineman to get the elec- tricity to the home or get it back on. Robert said," I wouldn’t trade my life and all my relationships with employees, members and friends for nothing. It’s been great. I love what I’ve done.”

When asked what he plans to do in retirement, Rob- ert replied that he looks forward to not being rushed and getting to tend his cow/calf operation during the week.

Zero Lost Time Accidents!

Mark Snowden, CEO of Cimarron Electric said, “Rob- ert has earned honor and respect for the way he has served our members over the years. From starting out as a groundsman, to flying in a helicopter evaluat- ing storm damage last month, Robert has had quite a career. “

We are going to miss Robert Cannon. We are thank- ful for the many years of service he has given to Cimarron Electric Cooperative. We are thankful that Ralph Schroeder encouraged Robert to apply for a job. We’re especially thankful that Robert was able to climb the poles to make his part in the history of Cimarron Electric possible. Thank you Robert for a career well done.

New Truck!

CEC Safety Director, Justin Glazier

OAEC Safety Instructor, Greg Hambrick

In the safety meeting this past month, we reviewed some of the lost time accidents that were turned into the insurance providers by Oklahoma REC’s. There were over 1 million dollars worth of lost time accident claims turned in by the Oklahoma Rural Electric Coop- eratives in 2015.

Cimarron Electric Cooperative had none! No lost time accident in 2015. This is an amazing tribute to the employees who are focusing on doing things safely!

Chris Bailey and Mike Meyer stand in front of new truck

New bucket truck arrives for linemen Bailey and Meyer. “This truck’s bucket can reach 12 feet further than our old truck, Hennessey Area Lineman, Mike Meyer said. “This bucket can swivel 360 degrees and can elevate 2 feet which makes it easier to work on the lines.” After getting Cimarron’s logos, all tools and parts will be transferred into this new truck.
