Matt Cooley

From classroom education to hands-on training, People’s Electric Cooperative prides itself on having well trained and experienced linemen.

Two of PEC’s Operations employees, Reese Howard, Construction Tech I, and Matt Cooley, Substation/Transmission Inspector, recently returned from the Oklahoma Association of Electric Cooperatives (OAEC) in Oklahoma City where they each completed pole climbing school. 421300501

The week long climbing school is designed to assist the cooperative in certifying their linemen in climbing wooden poles. Students learn to work with many tools that are used in the daily work of line technicians. They start the week with the basics and end the week performing pole top rescues. Congratulations to these two young men for completing climbing school.
