Pouring Analysis Pour-tech AB/Viking Technolo-
gies, Madison Heights, Michigan, exhibited a series of products at Cast- Expo, including the Inotech detection system. Inotech looks at the molten
iron stream, detects the inoculation and calculates the hit rate for in- creased yield and quality. Inoculation is a critical step in producing an iron casting because it helps improve the solidified structure and its mechanical
properties. Te Inotech system can act on its own or be integrated with the Pourtech system, an automatic pouring system.
Molding Sand Preparation Simpson Technologies, Aurora,
Illinois, displayed sand preparation technology, including the Model MC- 100 Simpson Multi-Cooler, a 100 tons per hour version of the popular sand cooler and pre-conditioning system. Te equipment on display will be installed at Dotson Iron Castings, Mankato, Minnesota.
Vertical Sand Molding DISA Group, Oswego, Illinois,
displayed its Disamatic D3, which has been sold to OSCO Industries, Ports- mouth, Ohio. Te Disamatic D1-D3 series is the company’s new signature vertical green sand molding series. Te D3 is replacing the previous Disa 230 and 231 lines. Te vertical molding machine is ideal for speed, reliability and cost effective production and gives metalcasters the ability to increase pro- duction capacity. Te D3 can produce up to 555 uncored molds per hour.
Nobake Molding System Palmer Manufacturing & Supply
Inc., Springfield, Ohio, displayed a Universal Molding Machine (UMM) Station built for Dakota Foundry, Webster, South Dakota. Palmer designed UMMs for high produc- tion nobake molding at low capital costs, making them attractive to jobbing foundries. Te Palmer UMM produces molds without a rollover and can accept both green sand and nobake tooling.
