Northern Iron and Machine, St. Paul, Minnesota, has received
certifi cation from the Performance Review Institute in the transportation and power generation accreditation program for casting processes. North- ern Iron and Machine is a ductile, austempered ductile and gray iron contract manufacturer that provides fi nish-machined parts, painting and assembly of castings.
Boose Aluminum Foundry,
Reamstown, Pennsylvania, and Boose Cornwall, Lebanon, Penn- syvania, have achieved ISO 9001- 2008 certification. Boose is an aluminum sandcaster.
Protostar Partners, New York, is
looking for a new owner for Columbus Castings, Columbus, Ohio, that would keep the facility in opera- tion.
Columbus Castings produces
steel castings for mining, construc- tion, agricultural equipment and other industries. The facility also produces end-of-car coupling components for the railroad industry, and also under- carriages for transit and passenger rail.
McWane Ductile, Phillipsburg,
New Jersey, conducted a tour of its facility for members of the Phillips- burg Area Chamber of Commerce. During the 20-minute tour, Mc- Wane Ductile showed off its pipe- making process and touted its safety record to members of the area’s busi- ness community. “We’re very proud of our safety record, and we like to show guests how we make our pipes,” Paul Carbo, human resource manager, McWane, said according to the Allentown (Pennsylvania) Morn- ing Call.
Caterpillar, Peoria, Illinois, has opened a 3D printing and innovation accelerator and an additive manufac- turing factory in Mossville, Illinois. T e facility will have commercial and advanced 3D printers.
