best heat-resistant castings?
Heat is a killer. The test castings shown provide an illustration of what happens to different metals when subjected to cyclical heating.
These bars were heated to, and cooled from 1600°F for a period of 300 hours in an oxidizing atmosphere.
The results – the three castings on the left, made in heat-treated
Meehanite Metal show no harmful effects while the three alloy cast iron samples on the right are severely scaled and have grown considerably, probably to the point of imminent failure.
If you need your castings to provide dependable service at high temperatures, get the competietive edge and specify heat-resisting Meehanite Metals.
