K clothing brand Alan Paine has plenty of reasons

to be cheerful. For a start, 2017 marks its 110th birthday. In celebration of its rich

heritage the company has produced an opulent Brand Guide, charting the history of the brand fromits inception in 1907 to the present day. Several pages in the book are

devoted to the wealth of archive photography stored at company headquarters, which provide a fascinating insight through the decades, fromretailer adverts to press cuttings and promotional literature.

TOWNAND COUNTRY

Both the company and its Country Collection continue to grow and evolve each year. Last year saw the appointment of an Alan Paine brandmanager in the USA, the appointment of a new agent in Finland and new UK knitwear agents,Cocoon. Many of the brand’s Country

Collection stockists took part in the Alan Paine RetailerDisplay competition inNovember, which ran in collaboration withTackle &Gunsmagazine. After retailers pulled out the

stops to create striking displays, featuring a range of Alan Paine products,T&G’s editor in chief,

Shepherd &Woodward was chosen as the winner, for creating “an eye-catching display that celebrated the great British countryside, mixed with details that injected a little smile.” Te two runners-up were

Jods Galore – “proof that you can cram loads of product into a space and still make it look elegant and desirable” – and Humphrey &Tilly – “a classic display, evoking all that is good about the country lifestyle.” Huge congratulations to the

winners and amassive thank you to everyone who took part.

owner of a super newmarquee, which, together with large PVC banners, feather flags and roller banners, can be borrowed by retailers for events. Furthermore, Alan Paine is

always keen to get its brand ambassadors involved with
