Hire Supply Co’s (HSC) new Elite submersible pumps range includes two heavy-duty 2in models. The manual SPK450M and automatic SPK450AF both have a 450W motor and a maximum flow rate of 260 litres per minute, with a maximum head height of 11m. Also in the Elite range is the SPK450, which is a 1in residue pump designed to suck up water to 2mm. It has the same motor as the other models and offers a maximum flow rate of 85 litres per minute, with a maximum head of 10m. The pumps have an adjustable outlet so that water can be directed horizontally or vertically as dictated by the local conditions. HSC reports that it has seen a big rise in the number of Master dehumidifiers sold in the past couple of years, reflecting extreme weather conditions resulting from climate change. There are over 20 different models available to cover applications in construction, restoration, agriculture and managing public spaces. The new stackable DHP45 and DHP65 units, which have roto-moulded casings, have respective extraction rates of 46 litres and 56 litres in 24hrs.

To meet demand for compact pumps for demanding de-watering applications, Grindex has introduced the Primo range of single- phase models, comprising two drainage and two sludge versions. Grindex, whose equipment is distributed in the UK by Euroflo Fluid Handling, says that, since pumps can often be used to clear up water that may contain chemicals or other contaminants, using smaller low-cost units can improve operational efficiency, as a replacement can be fitted quickly while the original pump can be removed and decontaminated in an environmentally responsible way.
