WASTE RECYCLING Save money with Fairport at RWM
Waste container and recycling bank services specialist, Fairport Containers, will be showcasing their money-saving products and services at RWM 2015, in what will be the firm’s ninth consecutive year at the show. The firm’s core service is its in-house
refurbishment of waste containers, recycling banks and trade waste wheelie bins, which can save companies, charities and local authorities up to a third of the cost of buying new. Some services can even be carried out at customers’
premises by Fairport’s mobile team. This year Fairport Containers will launch its
brand new website –
webuyanyskips.com – designed to make it easier than ever for companies and individuals to sell off any unwanted skips, waste containers or recycling banks for fast cash. Fairport Containers will be at stand 5S80
along with US partner Impact Plastics, which manufactures an exclusive range of cost- effective and weather resistant waste container
lids. The team will be on hand to advise visitors on how to make the best use of their budgets with refurbishment remodelling, hire and sale options. Managing director Steve Collinson,
commented: “We always look forward to RWM, to meet new customers and catch up with plenty of familiar faces. It’s one of the highlights of our year and once again we have plenty of exciting developments to announce, all designed to make life easier for our customers.”
New Wastemaster unveiled at RWM Show
JCB launches a brand new model for waste and recycling – the mighty JCB 457 Wastemaster wheeled loader complete with the all new ‘JCB CommandPlus’ cab – at the RWM Show in September.
New generation engine This most recent addition to the extensive Wastemaster range is the first of a new generation of JCB wheeled loading shovels that features an engine which meets the latest Tier 4 Final emissions standards, without the need for a costly diesel particulate filter (DPF). Instead it relies on an efficient combustion process, a selective catalytic converter (SCR) system and an exhaust fluid additive to meet the regulations. The 457 Wastemaster is
equipped with a new 7.7 litre MTU engine delivering 193kW (258hp), up from 186kW (250hp) on the previous model despite a smaller engine capacity. It is a more efficient and productive machine than its predecessor, offering fuel savings of around 16%. The 457 Wastemaster is a
versatile machine used on waste and recycling sites to move materials and load lorries. Its new features enhance user safety and profitability
30
as it delivers increased output at lower engine revs, cutting fuel consumption, noise and emissions.
CommandPlus cab Machine operators at waste and recycling sites may spend their whole day in the cab, so huge focus has been put on providing the best in cab comfort. The 457 Wastemaster has a completely new JCB CommandPlus Cab providing best-in-class comfort, visibility, ergonomics and noise reduction. The cab has a totally new roll over protection structure (ROPS) with a larger interior than its predecessors and panoramic front windscreen.
Improved access and noise The most visible change to the 457, aside from the new cab, is the adoption of a sloping one-piece engine canopy. This engine cover can be electrically raised to provide improved access to the engine and drivetrain for maintenance. The rear section can also be hinged away from the machine to provide access to the cooling pack, which now features a swing-out hydraulically-driven, on-demand cooling fan situated at the rear of the machine.

TANA Dealer of the Year 2014
Warwick Ward are announced as the ‘Dealer of the Year’ for the second year running at the recent TANA Dealer Meeting held in Jyväskylä in Finland. Kari Kangas, CEO and owner
of Tana said “Warwick Ward was nominated because of the outstanding results they have achieved in a relatively short time as a TANA dealer. TANA has become a name in the UK recycling industry in a big part because of the determined, continuous and professional work of Warwick Ward. A Highly motivated and committed dealer with an extremely professional management and extraordinary sales representatives can make miracles happen. We are proud of the partnership with Warwick Ward.” Ashley Ward, Managing
Director at Warwick Ward said, “It was great to be awarded such a prestigious accolade by TANA in recognition of all our hard work over the last 12 months. Since taking on the TANA dealership in 2012, we have been delighted with the job that we have done in
building the profile of the TANA brand in the UK and in particular the meteoric rise in prominence of the TANA Shark shredder. From a standing start in 2012 it is now widely recognised throughout the UK as the best shredder on the market with its unique ability to produce any waste particle size down to 40mm in one pass.” “The annual dealer meeting in
Finland was a really upbeat and useful gathering of all the TANA dealers from around the world. It offers us all a great opportunity to share thoughts, ideas and experiences and is invaluable both to TANA and to the dealer network.” “The next 12 months look very
exciting indeed. There are some new improvements in the pipeline for the shredder; the revolutionary TANA Smart Site software is almost ready for its official launch in the UK and autumn this year will see the launch of a brand new TANA product - the 6D Drum Screen (trommel) which we will be exhibiting for the first time at the RWM show this September.”
