announced changes to its senior positions, with Graham Wright (right) standing down as FETA chairman and British Refrigeration Association (BRA) president, John Smith (left), taking over the role.

Mr Smith is technical director for the Beijer Ref UK and Ireland group of companies and has been chairing the equipment and components section of the BRA since 2014. He has spent the last 29 years working in wholesaling for Dean & Wood, and for electronic controls manufacturers such as Danfoss, JTL and Honeywell. Mr Wright has also handed over his role as HEVAC president to Nick Howlett, who is managing director of Titon Ventilation Systems and a director of Titon Holdings. Mr Howlett’s previous role as HEVAC vice president will be taken by Mark Jones, who has built a career in the ventilation industry after starting out as an apprentice before eventually becoming chairman of Woodcock & Wilson in 2014. Finally, the BRA has appointed


Mark Woods as its new vice president. Mr Woods is joint managing director of Space Engineering Services, having started with the company as a

engineering director. Mr Morton has 30 years of industry experience and started his career as an apprentice, obtaining an OND and HNC in Building Services Engineering before completing his degree in the same subject.


His appointment strengthens BES’s management structure at a time of growth and demonstrates BES’s commitment to staff career development.


Mr Morton joined BES in 2004 as a senior HVAC designer. In 2009, he became project manager, before being promoted to the role of design manager for a multi-service term contract for a major customer.

He began his career as an apprentice installation engineer with a Stourbridge air conditioning firm and gained his Level 3 NVQ qualification in refrigeration and air conditioning at Solihull College.


Mr Morton explained: “I joined BES when the company was made up of just nine people. The company is now 120 strong and I’m excited to be involved in helping the company to grow further.”

of a senior sales and project engineer. Mark Higgins has 20 years of project management experience

Mr Bray is responsible for a sales area stretching from South Wales to East Anglia, building relationships between contractors and wholesalers and building demand for the J & E Hall commercial product range.
