COMPANY PROFILE

customers, distributors, contractors and installers to increase product knowledge and ultimately to build brand loyalty. This strategy will grow Hitachi’s presence among architects, specifiers and design and build contractors with its range of products – in particular Smart Chiller and unique VRF technologies, and the latest in integrated HVAC building management controls which are delivering real building efficiencies. Getting Hitachi products onto project specifications is a key goal for the business moving forward.

Mr Obafemi says: “I’ve been in the HVAC industry since 2007 with Toshiba Carrier, then Johnson Controls and now Hitachi and I strongly believe that Hitachi is one of the leading brands in the air conditioning market with a product portfolio which comprises quality engineered, energy efficient and innovative products which address the needs of the industry.”

Another area where Hitachi sees the potential for future business growth is through its valued distribution network to broaden the coverage needed to deliver to nationwide contractors and installers. To this end, Hitachi has recently appointed a new national distribution manager for the UK and Ireland and is taking an extremely proactive, market-driven approach to sales to ensure distributors, specifiers and contractor/installers understand the breadth of experience offered, plus the range and quality of products available to them.

Garry McKeon Specification sales manager

“Having worked at Axair Climate for over 10 years I knew that Hitachi’s products were at the forefront of design and innovation and that’s still true today. “As a business, our R&D teams strive to meet and exceed even the most stringent changes in efficiency requirements and to reduce environmental impacts, even before legislation comes into effect.

“Later this year our exciting new generation of industry-leading efficiency chillers will be launched and available direct from stock – a perfect example of where Hitachi is leading the way. Innovation will continue to be the cornerstone of Johnson Controls Hitachi Air Conditioning’s success.”

distribution manager

“For me this is very much a hands-on role, supporting the distributors with regular visits, providing updates on our new and existing products and providing free training in Hitachi’s aircademy training centre where we can develop knowledge of our products or upskill newer distribution staff. “Distributors are an integral part of our business strategy and I’m really looking forward to growing our distribution business and providing the honesty, availability and support the network is looking for.”
