Mitsubishi Electric’s M Series MSZ-LN wall-mounted air conditioning units have been awarded the Noise Abatement Society’s Quiet Mark in recognition of their almost silent performance.
The MSZ-LN is the very fi rst in the company’s comprehensive range of units which uses the new R32 refrigerant, which has a low global warming potential (GWP).
The streamlined design of the units complements the advanced and comprehensive range of features in order to make stylish, energy effi cient air conditioning available to all. The MSZ-LN range off ers noise levels as low as 19dBA and is available in a choice of four sizes from 2.5kW to 6.1kW, with four distinct indoor wall units.
In addition to the M Series MSZ-EF and MSZ-LN wall-mounted air conditioning units, Mitsubishi Electric’s range of Ecodan air source heat pumps are also endorsed with the Noise Abatement Society’s Quiet Mark.

The Bacharach PGM-IR is a portable aspirated infrared leak detector, off ering accurate leak detection at very low ppm. A built in library of over 50 refrigerants allows a specifi c target gas to be selected. The unit is not aff ected by fast changes in ambient temperature and humidity and does not require zeroing of positive readings with extended exposure to refrigerants.
With a 1L per minute air sample rate through the unit a real-time ppm concentration is displayed instantly along with an audible tick rate. The PGM-IR’s rapid clearing time enables accurate ambient air leak detection using the probe along a refrigerated display case. It can be used in contaminated areas without aff ecting the target gas readings due its re-zeroing algorithm and fi lter bladder system. The unit boasts a minimum of 8 hours runtime. Besides all common refrigerants, most of the new HFO and HFO blends can be detected.

Bacharach has reduced the default low ‘leak’ alarm level on its Halogen Monitor Multi-Zone (HGM-MZ), while extending the default sample line length on this active continuous refrigerant monitor. The upgrade reduces the leak alarm default value level to 10ppm and extends the sample line lengths per zone to 450ft. The low ‘leak’ alarm setting enhances the ability of the HGM-MZ to detect leaks early with out-of-the-box factory settings, limiting refrigerant loss while reducing emissions of environmentally harmful greenhouse gases, and enhancing refrigeration system effi ciencies, reducing energy costs and minimizing the risk of lost inventories.
