The benefits of hiring dehumidification

Dessicant


A desiccant material naturally absorbs and retains moisture from both gases and liquids, which can be released again when heated. There are various types of desiccant materials, but at Aggreko we use silica gel as the desiccant within the dehumidifi er drying wheels. These regenerative, desiccant-based dehumidifi ers provide dried, fi ltered, pressurised air that serves many useful functions at manufacturing sites, on construction projects or for other applications.


Each silica granule is made up of a network of interconnecting microscopic pores, which attract and hold moisture via capillary condensation. The trapped moisture is released when heated, enabling the dessicant to ‘regenerate’ itself and be used again and again.


As low ambient temperatures do not restrict the material, silica gel ensures that desiccant
