Toshiba Air Conditioning has developed a complete suite of R32-based Building Information Modelling (BIM) modules for consultants, contractors and air conditioning designers.
The roll-out includes BIM components
for the company’s RAS, RAV and air-to-water heat pump equipment ranges, plus two-pipe and three-pipe Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) systems running on R410A refrigerant.
The modules can be used with the industry standard Autodesk Revit platform to input and manage all the information of an air conditioning design, as part of an overall digital model of a construction project. They can be used for planning both new and refurbished buildings, speeding up the design process and helping to predict building performance. The introduction of BIM is a key element in the UK government’s strategy to improve energy efficiency and reduce costs in the construction industry. The aim is to introduce a 3D collaborative BIM approach to all new construction projects, reducing capital costs and helping to achieve the UK government’s target of cutting carbon and greenhouse emissions from buildings by 50% by 2025.

The LPF is designed specifically for refrigeration applications and includes many key features such as a shut-off function – the LPF closes as tightly as a solenoid valve (<1ml/min) . The ‘equal percentage flow curve’ allows the LPF to open fast in the case of high load demand and to perform control more accurately under low load conditions. It is equipped with a new coil that has IP67 class protection – and the cable length has been extended from 1.5 meters up to nine meters to meet remote installation needs. The LPF can be a replacement for a thermostatic expansion valve with a cooling capacity of up to 30 kW and is compatible with Sanhua controller SEC series.
