ADVERTISMENT FEATURE
end users increasingly high demands within the modern market. Controllability is key and all of Fujitsu’s VRF controller models can be used, including infra-red, wired, touch screen, open protocol – BACnet and Modbus, along with WIFI integration. A huge difference to the three control options the original J Series model was limited to, and a testament to the response to the changing demands of the customer. Keeping customers’ wellbeing at the forefront – with increased controllability also comes improved thermal comfort. During operation, oil circulates with refrigerant around the systems pipework. During heating, especially when refrigerant velocities are lower, this oil is deposited, mainly in the indoor unit’s heat exchanger. A lack of oil in the compressor can be damaging and so at regular intervals, the system reverts to cooling, uses high velocity refrigerant to lift and carry any deposited oil back to the compressor sump. This is a great way of maintaining reliability, but what about performance? ‘Little Napoleon’ wouldn’t necessarily be blowing cold air onto
occupants during oil return because the indoor unit fans would switch off, but the production of warm air would cease until the oil return process was complete. It’s successor however does something completely different, it focuses on both a person’s thermal comfort and system reliability at the same time. Increases in refrigerant velocity take place at regular
intervals when the system is in heating mode without changing to cooling. This means that whilst oil is being returned to the compressor, the user still experiences warm air production, a key factor in maintaining a person’s overall wellbeing and increasing customer satisfaction. Celebrating the 15th anniversary of the
launch of the J-Series is a remarkable achievement, it highlights that listening to the demands of the market, whilst sometimes complex and appear unjustified can provide the key to a products longevity and make it a huge success. Naturally, technological advancements are made, improvements applied, but the foundations remain the same - a compact, lightweight, efficient VRF with history, a bit of a story and the comfort of its reliability.
