he conference program for HVAC & Refrigeration LIVE is rapidly coming together and here we have a snapshot of just some of the sessions already confi rmed and in the pipeline.


With fast changing legislation and challenges facing business, HVAC & Refrigeration LIVE will be kicking off on 20 April with sessions to update vistors and bring opportunities. There will be updates on building regulations and an overview of F-Gas, where we are now and what the future will bring.


The highlight of the day will be a panel discussing the Brexit landscape as it lies in April and how it aff ects the HVACR sector. Sure to be a lively debate, panellists will include IoR president and managing director of Bitzer UK, Kevin Glass,


and Brexit and HVACR specialist Jacob Andresen from the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy.


Climate Action


21 April is all about Climate Action, the hottest topic on everyone’s agenda.


A panel of experts will be discussing ‘Sustainability and the Performance Gap’, including Debbie Hobbs, group director sustainable business at ISG Plc, Emma Bushell, sustainability manager at Lewisham Council, Paul Lynch, head of energy and waste management at Vinci Facilities and Andrew Lewry, senior technical associate at Focus FM. Other panels include the highly contentious ‘Hydrogen vs Heat Pump’ debate, with a speaker from CIPHE

Skills, training and education The third day will be focussing on skills, training and education of people, from young people accessing the industry through to teaching old engineers new tricks.


Neil Hitchin from TCUK will be ‘Raising the Bar on ACR Training’, discussing initiatives such as SkillFRIDGE.

Topics to be confi rmed shortly across all three days include the ‘Smarter grid’, black market refrigerants, how SMEs can engage with Government procurement, A2L risk assessment and ‘Professional Development and Standards’.
