LG has implemented a powerful 4-step filtration process to ensure a healthy indoor environment. The 4-step filter kit includes a pre-filter eliminating large dust particles, a dust electrification stage, an ultra-fine dust filter and a deodorisation filter. The pre-filter has a multi-layer structure that removes larger dust particles. After passing through the prefilter the air is treated with dust electrification in the second step, and the third step includes the ultra- fine dust filter, implemented to remove 99.9% of PM1.0 particles. Finally the deodorisation filter removes odours from the air. The comprehensive kit is compact and sits neatly inside the cassette unit so as not to increase the overall size of the unit itself. A coloured dot - green for good, yellow for moderate, orange for unhealthy and red is displayed for poor indoor air quality on the unit and on the wired remote controller (if the optional function to use the LG ThinQ app has been fitted this will also appear in the app). There are no additional filter costs as the filter can be easily cleaned at any time with a simple wash with water saving on the cost of parts. The air purification filter kit comes in a fresh white colour (RAL 9003) and is available across the DUAL VANE 4 Way cassette range on both the commercial split and Multi V VRF systems. During a dedicated launch event at Systemair’s Technical Centre in Skinnskatteberg (Sweden), the
Invertek Drives
A new high-performance variable frequency drive (VFD) designed for OEMs to optimise the performance and the lower the energy costs of BLDC compressors used in heat pumps and condensing units has been launched by Invertek Drives. The new Optidrive Coolvert is one of the smallest in its class, providing machine builders with opportunities to reduce panel space and lower machine costs. Designed to operate specifically with CO2
refrigerant condensing systems, it can provide end-users
with energy savings of up to 25 per cent. For use in applications involving CO2
refrigerant systems, Coolvert is targeted at
OEMs to help meet the EU F-Gas (Fluorinated Greenhouse Gas) regulations, in addition to energy efficiency gains. It has the widest ambient operating range in its class of between -20c to +60c, making it ideal for use in a wide range of environments, including retailer chill and freeze refrigeration systems. It is compatible with all motor types, including induction motors, permanent magnet motors, brushless DC motors, synchronous reluctance motors and Line Start PM motors ranging between 1.5kW to 11kW, 2HP to 15HP. It has single and three-phase input of 200V to 480V. Coolvert’s open Modbus RS485 communication ensures seamless connection to any external application controller, allowing the OEM freedom to select which components to use, leading to lower manufacturing costs.

company announced that it now offers third-party certified hygienic options for its entire range of modular Geniox air handling units. Hygiene-friendly is a standard offering. All Geniox materials and components are always hygiene friendly, third-party certified by VDI 6022-1. Also, the entire Geniox range of modular air handling units, which is the company’s major range, can be configured as a VDI 6022-1 certified unit using the manufacturer’s selection software (SystemairCAD). VDI audits are performed by an authorised third-party laboratory in Germany. Evgeny Gorelkov, Product Area Director AHU at Systemair, said: “The goal of a correctly operated and maintained air handling unit is to enable a good, healthy indoor climate. This improves our well-being, reduces sickness levels and helps us perform better at work, leisure, and in school. Today, more than ever, indoor air quality is essential. As a result, Systemair believes that all AHUs should be hygiene-friendly at minimum. Hygienic should become more standard, not only for hospitals and clean rooms but also for general ventilation applications.” One of the focus points of VDI 6022-1 is easy cleanability. The air handling unit design should make it possible for the operator to clean all parts of the unit. It is, for example, required that all surfaces are smooth and that there are no sharp edges or shapes where dirt can accumulate. This is just one of many areas which make Systemair Geniox units hygienic by design.
