Tycoon in Schools Deadline 30 September 2016 Budding entrepreneurs aged 5 to 18 are invited to participate in ‘Tycoon in Schools’, an exciting enterprise challenge from the Peter Jones Foundation. Teams must submit a fully-costed business plan and can borrow between £50 and £1,000 to start up and run a small business. Entrants then have a seven-week trading period in which they need to generate as much pro t as possible. Shortlisted teams will be invited to an awards ceremony in London in March 2017, where the winner will be announced. All loans must be repaid, but the winning team will receive £1,000 to assist in making their business sustainable. WHO PRIZES AND OUTCOMES
7-18 years Entrants must submit biological drawings of animals, plants, and organisms. Winner receives £25, plus £250 for their school and a day at the Royal Veterinary College’s anatomy museum and dissection rooms.

7-11 years Schools that register will receive a welcome pack worth £40. The top 12 schools will be invited to London for a grand final, and the winning school will be awarded £1,000 and a trophy. All finalists receive goody bags.

11-18 years Female students are tasked with solving the major challenges of the 21st century. Winners receive £500, plus £500 for their school and a female engineering mentor (for a mutually- agreed period). Runner-up prizes available.
All ages Celebrate Roald Dahl’s centenary and dress up as your favourite Dahl character – from Willy Wonka to Matilda. Find posters, stickers and classroom resources online. The charity also allows shared fundraising.

CAMPAIGN Sleep for Shelter
Ongoing All ages Classes explore the great outdoors whilst completing environmental challenges. There are four levels – bronze, silver, gold, and platinum. Schools receive a certificate for each level and a plaque once they reach gold.
Ongoing All ages Students can fundraise while sleeping – by seeking sponsorship or donations. Choose a venue for your school ‘sleepover’ and arrange a fun night of games and activities. A ‘how-to’ guide, promotional materials and activity ideas are available online.
